Santa Fe Police Arrest Two Men Amid Rise in Bicycle Thefts, Recover High-Value Stolen Bikes
Santa Fe police have reported a recent increase in bicycle thefts across the city, leading to the arrest of two individuals. Kristian Dominguez, 26, and Jimmy Archuleta, 35, both from Santa Fe, have been charged with receiving or transferring stolen property. The arrests were made in connection with the recovery of two high-value stolen bicycles. One of the recovered bikes was a specially modified bicycle, valued at $3,800, designed for a 10-year-old boy with cerebral palsy. Another stolen bicycle involved in the case was valued at $9,000. Both Dominguez and Archuleta are currently booked at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center. Authorities are advising residents to take preventative measures, such as photographing their bicycles, recording serial numbers, and using locks when bikes are unattended, to help deter thefts.
