Red Flag Warning for Idaho and Oregon: Lightning, Winds
A Red Flag Warning is in effect for parts of southwest Idaho and eastern Oregon from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service warns of scattered thunderstorms that could bring lightning, rainfall, and strong outflow winds, with gusts reaching up to 50 mph. These conditions significantly increase the risk of wildfires, as any new or existing fires could spread rapidly. The warning covers areas such as the Northern Boise National Forest, Southern Boise and Western Sawtooth National Forest, Camas Prairie, Burns BLM, Steens Mountain, Northwestern Vale BLM, and Baker Valley in Oregon. Critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop this afternoon and evening.
