Illinois State University's Department of Technology Hosts Inaugural Awards Ceremony, Recognizing Faculty and Students
Illinois State University's Department of Technology (TEC) recently held its first Department of Technology Awards Ceremony on September 26. This new event replaces the department's annual Scholarship Reception, expanding its scope to include recognition for faculty teaching awards alongside celebrating Honors students, TEC ambassadors, and scholarship recipients. TEC Chair Josh Brown initiated the additional faculty recognitions, aiming to honor both student achievements and the contributions of those who support them. The ceremony highlighted an increase in scholarship funds this year, totaling over $75,000, partly due to the introduction of the Richard C. Kohler Scholarship. This scholarship, named after a 1938 TEC alumnus, covers tuition and fees for a deserving junior in TEC who demonstrates dedication and academic excellence.
