This conclusion follows a rigorous laboratory test involving 57 different insect repellents. The testing procedure required volunteers to expose their arms inside cages filled with disease-free mosquitoes for five-minute intervals, meticulously recording every mosquito landing, probing, and bite. To simulate real-world conditions, volunteers engaged in a sweaty walk between rounds. The repellents were tested until they failed or for a maximum of eight hours.
