Pro-Russian Hacking Group Claims Cyberattack on Norwegian Government Digital Services
The pro-Russian hacking group Server Killers has claimed responsibility for a large-scale Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack targeting Norway's government digital services. The attack, which began on the night of August 24, has continued for three days, affecting approximately ten services, including critical electronic identification systems like ID-porten and MinID, the Altinn portal, and digital postal services. Norway's Digitalisation Directorate (Digdir) has stated that while core systems remain operational and most users are not experiencing severe disruptions, cybersecurity experts are actively working to mitigate the consequences. Digdir also emphasized that a DDoS attack does not imply a system breach, and there is no evidence of personal data leakage.
