India's Crude Oil Imports from Russia May Reach Record Levels Amid Red Sea Disruptions
India's crude oil imports from Russia could potentially reach a new high of 3 million barrels per day if disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea persist. According to Kpler, a global data analytics provider, India's reliance on Russian crude oil remains significant. The potential increase in imports is contingent on market conditions and Russia's export availability. Currently, India's imports from Russia have surged from around 1 million barrels per day to approximately 2.6 million barrels per day. The situation is further complicated by the ongoing Ukrainian attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, which have already reduced Russian crude exports by about 400,000 barrels per day in July.
