University of Tulsa Highlights Urgent Need for Cybersecurity Professionals Amid Rising Threats
The University of Tulsa recently hosted an event emphasizing the critical need for cybersecurity professionals, as highlighted by the Oklahoma Cyber Innovation Institute. The institute reported that global financial losses from cyber attacks are projected to reach $10.2 trillion this year, with 2,200 daily attacks. David Keely, the institute's executive director, noted that cybersecurity has become the primary concern for businesses, surpassing traditional risks like fire or theft. The event, part of the Tulsa Regional Chamber's State of Workforce & Talent series, featured discussions on the challenges small businesses face in securing expert cybersecurity assistance and the broader implications for the U.S. economy.
