Food Bank of Lincoln Reopens Emergency Pantry for Students and Families During School Year
The Food Bank of Lincoln, in collaboration with Lincoln Public Schools (LPS), has reopened its emergency food pantry at Bryan Community School for the school year. The pantry, located south of 48th and O streets, began operations on Monday afternoon, providing food assistance to students and their families. Tiffany Murray, the food bank’s chief operating officer, stated that eligibility extends beyond LPS students to include private and homeschooled students. Families can access the pantry once a month and receive 30 to 35 pounds of shelf-stable items such as canned proteins, sauces, pasta, peanut butter, and jelly. The pantry will operate every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. until May, with extended hours compared to previous years.
