UN Women and Partners Launch Initiative to Catalyze Policy Reform for Ending Violence Against Women and Girls
UN Women, in collaboration with the Prevention Collaborative, World Bank, SVRI, and Economist Impact, is spearheading a new initiative titled 'From Evidence to Action: Using Policy Reform and Data to End Violence Against Women and Girls at Scale.' This project aims to elevate the importance of policy reform beyond traditional justice systems, focusing on areas such as education, alcohol regulation, and family law, which are often overlooked by policymakers and advocates in the context of preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG). The initiative seeks to foster policy dialogues among governments, UN agencies, multilateral institutions, funders, and civil society organizations. The goal is to explore existing evidence, discuss feasible policy interventions, and prepare the groundwork for policy experimentation and implementation.
