Salt Lake City Unveils Vision for Fleet Block Open Space with Community-Centric Design
Salt Lake City has revealed its final plans for a 2.4-acre open space within the Fleet Block area, aiming to transform it into a shaded, natural green destination. The site, located near 900 South and 300 West in the Granary District, will feature a small amphitheater, open lawn space, gardens, and flexible play furnishings. The design includes a community table for gatherings and events, shade structures, and 150 new trees. The space will also incorporate significant public artwork reflecting its social justice history. The project follows years of planning and community engagement, with input from local residents shaping the design to include elements like swingsets and play areas for children.
