Tuscaloosa Police Investigate Shooting Near Block Party, Eight Injured Including Juveniles
Eight individuals, including juveniles, were shot in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, near the 2600 block of 22nd Street. The incident occurred on Saturday night, shortly after a permitted neighborhood block party in the same area concluded at 10 p.m. Tuscaloosa Police officers responded to a call at 10:48 p.m., finding a large crowd and multiple victims. Emergency medical services were called to the scene, and officers began providing aid. Initially, seven victims were reported, but an eighth individual later arrived at a hospital with a gunshot graze wound. While three victims initially sustained serious injuries, all eight are now reported to be in stable condition. Several unoccupied vehicles were also struck by bullets during the shooting. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is currently investigating the incident, with assistance from FBI Birmingham agents. No arrests have been made, and authorities are actively interviewing witnesses.
