Justice Department Seeks Injunction Against Washington Pet Food Manufacturer
The U.S. Department of Justice has filed a complaint to permanently enjoin Arrow Reliance Inc., a Washington-based pet food manufacturer, from producing and selling adulterated pet food. The complaint alleges that the company, operating as Darwin's Natural Pet Products, violated the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by failing to adhere to preventive controls, resulting in contamination with harmful bacteria. Despite repeated FDA warnings, the company continued to distribute products contaminated with pathogens like Salmonella and Listeria. The lawsuit seeks to enforce compliance with federal food safety regulations to protect public health.
