Bonnie Watson Coleman Delivers Keynote at Sheila Y. Oliver Foundation Event Celebrating Women's Leadership
U.S. Representative Bonnie Watson Coleman delivered a keynote address at the Sheila Y. Oliver Foundation's third annual Legacy Brunch, held on July 25 at the Valley Regency in Clifton, New Jersey. The event, attended by nearly 300 individuals including elected officials, business leaders, and community advocates, honored nine female leaders for their contributions in various fields such as public service, education, and healthcare. The foundation, named after the late Lt. Gov. Sheila Y. Oliver, focuses on empowering underserved communities and developing young women of color interested in government and public policy. Watson Coleman, the first Black woman elected to represent New Jersey in Congress, paid tribute to Oliver, highlighting her legacy of opening doors for others and challenging leaders to act with courage and conviction.
