Ben Crump to Reveal Independent Autopsy Findings in Nolan Wells Case at NAACP Convention
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump is set to announce the preliminary findings of an independent autopsy conducted on Nolan Xavier Wells, an 18-year-old who was found dead on Horn Island, Mississippi. The announcement will take place at the 117th NAACP National Convention. Nolan Wells had traveled to the island with friends on July 4, 2026, but did not return with them. His body was discovered by a U.S. park ranger on July 6. The NAACP has adopted a resolution calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Wells' death, urging local, state, and federal authorities, including the U.S. Department of Justice, to conduct a transparent review.
