Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital Data Breach Affects 250,000 Individuals
Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital (NMH) in Texas has reported a data breach affecting approximately 250,000 individuals. The breach occurred on January 31 when a threat actor infiltrated the hospital's internal network and information systems. The compromised data includes personal and health information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, medical record numbers, account numbers, health plan beneficiary numbers, and photographs. NMH has notified the Maine Attorney General’s Office about the breach and has sent letters to the affected individuals, advising them to monitor their accounts for suspicious activity. The hospital has not provided free identity theft or credit monitoring services to those impacted. Following the incident, NMH has taken steps to secure its network and has informed law enforcement. No known ransomware groups have claimed responsibility for the attack.
