Washington Nationals Celebrate Vietnam Veterans with Special Ballpark Event
The Washington Nationals hosted a special event at Nationals Park to honor 15 Vietnam-era veterans as part of the AARP program 'Wish of a Lifetime.' Despite the Nationals losing to the St. Louis Cardinals, the day was filled with recognition and appreciation for the veterans, who participated in pregame ceremonies and received a salute to service. The event served as a 'welcome home' for veterans who did not receive such recognition after their service. The veterans, all from Wyoming, visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial before the game, reflecting on their experiences and honoring fallen comrades.
