Intermountain Health Acquires Interests in Two Idaho Hospitals for $795 Million
Intermountain Health, a nonprofit healthcare system based in Utah, has announced the acquisition of its partner's share in two Idaho hospitals and several affiliated clinics for approximately $795 million. This transaction involves Idaho Falls Community Hospital, an 88-bed facility, and a greater share in the physician-owned Mountain View Hospital, which has 38 beds. The acquisition is expected to close in the coming months, pending necessary approvals. Intermountain Health, which already has a minority stake in these hospitals, aims to enhance local patient access to specialized care and leverage its extensive resources and strategic guidance. The hospitals and clinics employ over 2,300 staff, including more than 150 physicians. This move is part of Intermountain's broader strategy to expand its healthcare footprint, following a recent announcement of a joint venture with AdventHealth involving three Denver-area hospitals.
