Enoki Mushrooms Recalled Due to Listeria Contamination Risking Public Health
Green Box Limited has issued a recall for specific batches of its Enoki Mushrooms due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The affected products, originating from China, are identified by batch codes G22029 and G22030. Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause severe health issues, particularly in vulnerable populations such as pregnant women, infants, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms of Listeria infection include flu-like symptoms, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, with an incubation period ranging from 3 to 70 days. Retailers are instructed to remove the affected products from sale and display recall notices, while consumers are advised not to consume the implicated mushrooms.
