Cherry Creek State Park Boat Ramp Closure Due to Low Water Levels
Cherry Creek State Park in Arapahoe County, Colorado, will close its boat ramp on August 16 due to declining water levels, as announced by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The decision comes amid ongoing drought conditions affecting the region. The closure marks an early end to the boating season, which typically extends from mid-April to early October. Visitors and regulars at the park expressed disappointment, noting the impact on recreational activities. Some, like Donn Botzum, who has frequented the park for 40 years, are considering selling their watercraft due to limited access. Despite the early closure, some visitors remain grateful for the season they had.
