Bird's son, Steve Robles, expressed concerns about his mother's safety prior to her disappearance, wishing he could have convinced her to move closer to him. The family dynamics were strained, with Bird's daughter, Doreen, and grandson, Blake Thomas, reportedly pressuring her over financial matters related to her home. Bird had been planning to sell her house and move to a friend's place, but tensions with her family escalated, leading to legal disputes over property and financial entitlements.
