Severe Storms Cause Damage Across Central Ohio
Clusters of intense storms swept through central Ohio on Saturday, June 6, bringing strong winds, hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. According to NBC4 WCMH-TV, the storms caused significant damage, including downed trees and power lines in areas such as Muirfield Village, Powell, Dublin, and Mount Vernon. Hailstones exceeding one inch in diameter were reported, and wind gusts reached 66 mph at OSU Airport and 56 mph at John Glenn Columbus Airport. The National Weather Service is investigating the damage, which appears to be primarily caused by straight-line winds, possibly from a microburst. Some roads were temporarily closed due to fallen trees, and multiple severe weather warnings were issued throughout the afternoon and evening.
