N.Y. Federation Contributes $1M to Center Honoring Slain Peace Activist Vivian Silver
The UJA-Federation of New York has donated $1 million to the Arab-Jewish Center for Empowerment, Equality, and Cooperation – Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Economic Development (AJEEC-NISPED) to establish a center named after Canadian-Israeli peace activist Vivian Silver. Silver, who was killed by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023, was a co-founder of AJEEC-NISPED, an organization dedicated to fostering Jewish-Arab partnerships in Israel. The new center, located in Beersheva's Science Park, will serve as a hub for cultural events and educational programs aimed at promoting shared society initiatives.
