Etihad Airways Expands into Central Asia with New Tashkent Route
Etihad Airways has launched a new daily non-stop flight route between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, Uzbekistan, marking its first destination in Central Asia. This decision comes as part of Etihad's strategy to expand its network and capitalize on Uzbekistan's growing aviation and tourism markets. The airline had initially planned to launch a route to Almaty, Kazakhstan, but postponed it in favor of Tashkent, citing better market opportunities. The new route is expected to enhance connectivity for Uzbek travelers, providing direct access to Abu Dhabi and further connections across Etihad's global network. The inaugural flight was fully booked, indicating strong demand for the service.
