Multi-Agency Search for Missing 19-Year-Old on Lake Washington
A search operation is underway on Lake Washington for a 19-year-old man who is believed to have fallen from a moving recreational boat near the I-90 floating bridge. The incident was reported on Friday night around 10:40 p.m. when a vessel returning from the Seafair log boom noticed a passenger was missing. The Mercer Island Police Department Marine Patrol, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, Seattle Harbor Patrol, Bellevue Fire, Eastside Fire, and Clyde Hill Police, are involved in the search. Crews have been using thermal drones, FLIR, and searchlights to cover a 10-square-mile area. Nighttime search operations were suspended at 12:30 a.m. due to darkness but resumed during daylight hours on Saturday. Investigators are in contact with the man's family and are exploring the possibility that he may have reached shore or another vessel. The public is encouraged to contact the Mercer Island Police Department with any information.
