Denmark Signs Contract for SAMP/T NG Air Defense System, Enhancing Military Capabilities
Denmark has signed a contract for the SAMP/T NG (Next Generation) long-range air defense system, as confirmed by a Thales spokesperson. The system, which includes the Ground Fire 300 radar with a range of up to 400 km, is expected to be delivered starting in 2028. The radar offers panoramic coverage and is capable of detecting, tracking, and classifying multiple targets, including UAVs, combat aircraft, and ballistic missiles. Thales integrates the SAMP/T's fire control system and supplies its Next Generation Engagement Module (ME-NG) command, control, and fire control system. The open architecture of the ME-NG facilitates integration and interoperability with other European systems, providing strategic autonomy and operational readiness. France and Italy are providing operational feedback from deployments of the SAMP/T NG system, which has been tested in real combat conditions.
