Guinea, GAC, and EGA Reach Settlement to Resume Bauxite Operations
The Republic of Guinea, represented by its Minister of Mines and Geology Bouna Sylla, has reached a settlement with Guinea Alumina Corporation (GAC) and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) to resolve disputes related to the cessation of GAC's activities in Guinea and the interruption of bauxite supplies to EGA. The agreement, negotiated under the Paris Bar Association's auspices, includes Guinea paying a lump sum to GAC in exchange for transferring GAC's assets to Nimba Mining Company for the Sangarédi bauxite project. Additionally, the agreement renews bauxite supply agreements between Compagnie des Bauxites de Guinée (CBG) and EGA under mutually beneficial terms.
