First Lady Maria Lee Concludes Eighth Annual Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge
First Lady Maria Lee and Governor Bill Lee recently celebrated the conclusion of the eighth annual Tennessee Kids Serve Summer Challenge, a key initiative of the First Lady's Tennessee Serves program. The event, held at the Tennessee Governor’s Residence, honored over 100 students and their families for their community service during the summer. This year, more than 650 students from 54 counties participated, contributing a total of 2,796 hours of service. Since its inception in 2019, the challenge has engaged 10,478 students across all 95 Tennessee counties, accumulating over 18,087 hours of service. The carnival-themed celebration included games, prizes, snacks, appearances by local sports mascots, and remarks from both the Governor and First Lady, who commended the children for their dedication to serving others and encouraged continued civic engagement.
