Denver Faces Triple-Digit Heat with Near-Record Highs
Denver and surrounding counties are bracing for extreme heat, with temperatures forecasted to reach between 98°F and 104°F (37°C to 40°C) on Sunday, August 2, 2026, and 96°F to 101°F (36°C to 38°C) on Monday, August 3, 2026. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the Denver area from noon Sunday to 9 p.m. Monday. Denver is expected to hit 102°F (39°C) on Sunday, just shy of the city's record of 103°F (39.4°C) for August 2, set in 2008. Monday's high of 100°F (37.8°C) could tie the August 3 record set in 1878. The heat will also extend to Colorado's Eastern Plains, though no advisory has been issued there as of Sunday morning.
