Transavia Expands Operations with New Hub at Brussels Airport, Increasing Destinations and Passenger Capacity
Dutch airline Transavia, a subsidiary of KLM, is significantly expanding its operations at Brussels Airport. The low-cost carrier has been gradually increasing its presence over the past four years and has now established a local crew base, transforming Brussels Airport into its fourth hub. This expansion follows the stationing of a fourth aircraft in Brussels, with Transavia CEO Paul Terstegge noting a growing preference among Belgian customers for their services. The airline currently employs approximately 150 people at its Zaventem base under Belgian contracts. Transavia plans to increase its Brussels service from 11 to 15 destinations, with new routes being introduced this winter and next summer.
