Mercy Corps Partners with Jordanian Fund to Implement Solar Energy Solutions in Azraq Region
Mercy Corps, a humanitarian organization, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund in Jordan. This partnership, part of the 'Nature' project, aims to bolster the sustainability of local communities in the Azraq region and enhance their ability to adapt to the impacts of climate change by adopting clean energy solutions. The program will provide solar energy systems to over 40 low-income families and offer training to young people in renewable energy and energy efficiency. This initiative is designed to improve daily lives and create job market opportunities for the youth in the region. The project specifically targets families in the Azraq region in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development, focusing on the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of solar water heater systems, alongside awareness sessions on renewable energy and energy conservation.
