Volunteers Launch Love the Boot Week in Algiers to Promote Community Cleanups
In Algiers, Louisiana, volunteers have initiated Love the Boot Week, a statewide campaign aimed at encouraging community cleanups. The event, which took place on a Saturday morning, saw numerous volunteers participating in cleaning efforts to beautify the Algiers neighborhood. Stephen Mosgrove, Founder & Chair of Keep Algiers Beautiful, emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining clean and attractive neighborhoods. New Orleans City Councilman Matthew Willard also highlighted the role of community pride in keeping areas litter-free. The initiative is part of a broader effort to instill a lasting respect for community spaces among residents. Over 200 volunteer opportunities are available throughout Greater New Orleans during the week, with organizers encouraging individuals to take part or organize their own cleanup events.
