Woman Dies After Undergoing Six Cosmetic Procedures Simultaneously in Brazil
Andreia Vieira Gaspar, a 51-year-old woman, died in Brazil after undergoing six cosmetic procedures at once, including a facelift, blepharoplasty, liposuction, and facial fat grafting. Gaspar had saved approximately $22,918 USD over two years for the extensive plastic surgery in Goiânia. Her sister, Djiane Vieira, claims that Andreia did not have a pre-procedure consultation in Brazil and that her pre-operative tests were conducted in Spain. Djiane also alleges that after Andreia's tongue began to swell severely, the medical team at Ankar Hospital did not provide proper care, and the hospital lacked an ICU or an emergency ambulance. According to Djiane, Andreia died in her arms after multiple resuscitation attempts. A lawyer representing Ankar Hospital stated that Andreia received immediate emergency care and all necessary measures were taken.
