Fairport Police Seek Suspects in Overnight Vandalism, Urge Public to Review Security Footage
Fairport, N.Y., police are actively seeking suspects responsible for an overnight vandalism spree that affected several homes near Whitney Road. The incidents occurred early Friday morning, August 14, 2026, with at least five reports of property damage filed. One resident, Stephanie Springer, reported that her front door was shattered by a rock, an event captured on her doorbell camera. The footage reportedly shows three individuals, believed to be teens, discussing the act before throwing the rock. Fairport Police Chief Andrew Whitaker confirmed that officers and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded but were unable to locate anyone at the time. Authorities are now reviewing Ring and other security camera footage from the area and are asking residents to check their cameras for any relevant recordings between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Friday.
