FBI Captures Fugitive KaShawn Nicola Roper, Ending Six-Year Manhunt
KaShawn Nicola Roper, a fugitive listed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list, was apprehended in Florida following a coordinated law enforcement operation. Roper was arrested by High Springs Police Department officers during a traffic stop on April 15, after receiving information about her connection to an active federal fugitive investigation. The arrest was facilitated by multiple tips received through the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center, which described a suspect matching Roper's description. These tips led officers to conduct a traffic stop based on the vehicle description provided, resulting in Roper's arrest without incident. Roper was wanted for her alleged involvement in a 2020 shooting in Kansas City, Missouri, which resulted in the death of one victim. She was charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon, with a federal arrest warrant issued for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
