Wild Center Seeks Funds for Permanent Thomas Dambo Troll Sculpture in New York
The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, New York, is actively fundraising to commission a permanent sculpture by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. Dambo is renowned for his large-scale troll sculptures crafted from recycled wood and other sustainable materials, each conveying a message about environmental stewardship. Currently, the museum hosts a traveling exhibit, 'Trolls: Save the Humans,' featuring six of Dambo's creations, which is scheduled to conclude at the end of October. The Wild Center aims to raise $500,000 to secure one of these unique, environmentally-themed artworks as a permanent fixture, which would mark the first permanent Dambo Troll in New York State. Longtime supporters Bill and Joan Grabe have initiated a $100,000 challenge match, doubling the impact of donations made before October 31. The museum is also seeking corporate sponsorships to support this initiative.
