Former Senator Kyrsten Sinema's Ex-Bodyguard Indicted for Felony Criminal Damage and Alleged Witness Harassment
Matthew Ammel, former bodyguard and ex-lover of former Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, has been indicted on one count of felony criminal damage. Ammel is accused of causing approximately $200,000 in damage at Sinema's Cave Creek home following their separation in late August. The alleged rampage included dumping 22 pieces of expensive artwork into Sinema's pool, smashing vintage alcohol bottles, and shattering a mirror. Following these events, Ammel was arrested in September, and Sinema was granted a no-contact order. Court documents obtained by the Arizona Republic indicate that Ammel allegedly violated this no-contact order by having a bail bondsman contact Sinema, demanding she pay his $25,000 bail.
