Madison Cawthorn Reports Significant Campaign Fundraising with Personal Loans
Former U.S. Representative Madison Cawthorn, who previously served North Carolina, has reported substantial fundraising efforts for his political campaign. In the second quarter, Cawthorn disclosed over $342,000 in receipts, with a significant portion, $300,000, coming from a personal loan he made to his campaign. This brings his total personal loans to the campaign to $800,000. Additionally, he has raised approximately $62,000 from donors. Despite spending nearly $236,000 in the quarter, Cawthorn concluded June with more than $339,000 in cash on hand. This financial activity is part of a broader trend in the Republican Primary for Florida’s 19th Congressional District, where candidates are heavily self-funding their campaigns.
