Man Killed by Falling Tree Amid NYC Nor’easter

A 56-year-old man tragically lost his life in East New York, Brooklyn, on Saturday after being struck by a falling tree during a nor’easter. The incident occurred at 700 Euclid Ave. around 3:30 p.m., according to the NYPD. The man, identified as Leighton Brown, was transported to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The storm brought gusts of up to 55 mph, and city officials reported receiving hundreds of calls about downed or damaged trees, primarily in Queens and Brooklyn. The NYC Parks Department has stated that cleanup efforts will continue for several days.
