Upper Township in Cape May County, New Jersey, has experienced a significant data breach that exposed residents' personal information. The breach, which occurred on October 5, 2025, compromised names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license information, financial data, and more. Township officials discovered suspicious activity on their networks in December 2025 and launched an investigation, which concluded in April 2026. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual accessed and potentially acquired files containing sensitive information.
