Men with the highest consumption of saturated fats from animal-derived sources, such as red meat, butter, and full-fat dairy, exhibited a 24% higher overall death rate compared to those with the lowest intake. Conversely, replacing these animal fats with plant-based and unsaturated fats, found in sources like olive oil and nuts, was associated with a significantly lower risk of overall death.
