Vista Fire in Lake Elsinore Prompts Evacuations, Now 25% Contained
A wildfire, named the Vista fire, erupted in Lake Elsinore, California, on Friday, leading to temporary evacuation orders. The fire was reported at 4:20 p.m. near El Toro Road, north of the city, as per the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Approximately 300 firefighters were deployed to manage the blaze, which spread across 141 acres. By 9 p.m., the fire was 25% contained, and all evacuation orders were lifted. The National Weather Service reported light and variable winds of 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph expected into the evening. A nearby fire, the Palomar fire in Wildomar, was also addressed by Riverside County fire crews and was 90% contained by 6 p.m.
