Gavin Maloof Expresses Betrayal Over Ex-Girlfriend's Theft Case
Gavin Maloof, a prominent businessman and co-founder of the NHL's Vegas Golden Knights, has expressed a deep sense of betrayal following the guilty pleas of his former girlfriend, Jennifer Courtemanche, and her co-defendant, Brittany Burgess. Both women pleaded guilty to a gross misdemeanor count of conspiracy to commit theft, admitting to stealing hundreds of thousands of dollars from Maloof. Courtemanche, who was once a trusted partner in Maloof's life, was involved in an elaborate scheme to deceive him, which included sending harassing messages and orchestrating financial theft. As part of their plea agreements, Courtemanche and Burgess have agreed to pay restitution to Maloof, with Courtemanche owing nearly $445,000 and Burgess almost $12,000. If they fulfill these restitution obligations, their cases could be dismissed, and prosecutors have agreed not to oppose probation.
