Devastating Floods in Texas Leave Communities Reeling
Southern Texas has been hit by catastrophic flooding after receiving nearly a year’s worth of rain in just one week. The Guadalupe River experienced a 'large and deadly flood wave,' cresting at nearly 38 feet in Center Point on Thursday morning. This marks the second consecutive year of severe flooding in the region, with widespread destruction reported in Kerrville, Uvalde, and other parts of the Hill Country. Homes, businesses, and lives have been upended, with two fatalities confirmed. The floodwaters have destroyed homes rebuilt after last year’s disaster and caused significant emotional and financial strain on residents. Communities are rallying together to provide support, with neighbors helping each other clean up and rebuild. The resilience and kindness of the affected communities are shining through as they face the daunting task of recovery.
