Nevada System of Higher Education Expands Wi-Fi Access Across Washoe County
The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) has partnered with Washoe County to expand eduroam, a secure Wi-Fi service, to 80 public locations, including libraries, parks, and community centers. This initiative aims to provide students, educators, and researchers with secure internet access using their existing institutional credentials. The expansion increases Nevada's total eduroam hot spot locations to 350, making Washoe County the largest contributor to the network outside of K-12 entities. The project is part of NSHE's broader effort to enhance digital equity across the state, supported by state funding and NSHE's System Computing Services.
