Democratic Campaign Targets Colorado's Republican Congressional Seats for 2026 Elections
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has announced its intention to target all Republican-held congressional seats in Colorado for the 2026 elections. This includes the 3rd and 4th districts, which have been added to the DCCC's list of 'districts in play.' The 3rd District, represented by Republican Jeff Hurd, and the 4th District, represented by Lauren Boebert, are considered high priority races. The DCCC aims to regain control of Congress by flipping these seats. The 3rd District, which leans Republican, saw Hurd win his first term with just under 51% of the vote in 2024. Democrat Dwayne Romero is challenging Hurd in the upcoming election. The 4th District, Colorado's most conservative, is also a target, with Democrat Eileen Laubacher running against Boebert. Laubacher has significantly outraised Boebert, amassing over $10 million since May 2025.
