Hasan Piker Alleges Jewish Support for Israel Invites Violence
Hasan Piker, a prominent social media influencer, stated on his Twitch stream last week that American Jews who express support for Israel are inviting violence against themselves. Piker claimed that Jews who link their identity to Israel, which he referred to as 'Jewish ISIS,' are 'making antisemitism worse.' He argued that if American Jews continue to emphasize their singular investment in Israel, action will eventually be taken against them, not against the State of Israel. Piker has a history of controversial rhetoric, including justifying Hamas' October 7, 2023, attacks and making derogatory comments about Orthodox Jews. He has also expressed that he would 'vote for Hamas over Israel every single time,' describing Hamas as 'a thousand times better than a fascist settler colonial apartheid state.' Despite these statements, Piker has been invited to speak at high-profile events, such as the College Democrats of America’s convention, and has served as a surrogate for progressive Democratic candidates.
