NV Energy Files to Increase Natural Gas Rates While Decreasing Electric Costs for Nevada Customers
NV Energy has submitted a filing to the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada (PUCN) proposing adjustments to its energy rates. If approved, these changes would take effect on October 1. The company's proposal includes a reduction in electric rates for customers, which would decrease annual revenues by over $22 million. Conversely, NV Energy is seeking to increase natural gas rates, which would boost annual revenues by approximately $3.7 million. For residential electric customers (Domestic Service D-1), this would mean a monthly decrease of about $1.86, representing a 1.82% reduction. For residential natural gas customers (Residential Natural Gas RNG), the proposal entails a monthly increase of around $1.01, a 3.05% rise. Small Commercial Natural Gas (SCNG) customers would see a 4.60% increase, or about $6.00 per month.
