Global Link International Sues Michigan State Amid Felony Charges Against Leader
Global Link International, a Michigan-based nonprofit, is suing the state to reclaim a $20 million grant that was revoked amid scrutiny over its spending and leadership. The organization, which was formed shortly after the grant was included in the state budget, received $10 million before facing backlash over its director's high salary and other expenditures. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation canceled the grant, leading Global Link to file a lawsuit seeking reinstatement of funds and damages. Concurrently, the Michigan Attorney General has charged the nonprofit's Executive Director, Fay Beydoun, with 16 felonies related to misuse of state funds.
