Ukrainian Forces Surround Russian Troops in Kupiansk Amid Ongoing Conflict
Ukrainian forces have reportedly surrounded Russian troops in the town of Kupiansk, located in the northern region of Kharkiv. This development comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the area, celebrating the efforts of the defending troops. Ihor Obolienskyi, head of the Khartiia Corps of the National Guard, stated that Russian forces in the city are completely cut off. This follows previous claims by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Kupiansk was under Russian control. The Ukrainian military continues to resist Russian advances in other contested areas, such as Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, despite being outgunned. The conflict is part of a broader Russian campaign to seize the Donetsk region, which has been met with significant resistance from Ukrainian forces.
