U.S. Marines Implement Advanced Manufacturing in Valiant Shield 26 Exercise
During the Valiant Shield 26 exercise, U.S. Marines have introduced advanced manufacturing techniques to the front lines, showcasing a significant innovation in military logistics and operations. The exercise, held at White Beach, Okinawa, Japan, involved the Intermediate Repair Company and was part of the Resilient Advanced Manufacturing for Contested Environments (RAMFORCE) initiative. This initiative, hosted by the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, brought together military personnel, government laboratories, and private industry to explore how advanced manufacturing technologies can be used to repair, replace, and produce critical equipment on-site. This capability is crucial for expeditionary forces operating in contested environments, where traditional supply lines may be disrupted.
